This is a real-life interview question. This happened in Dewey, Oklahoma.
On February 6th, 2016 an independent youth league hosted a basketball game between Dewey and Skiatook. During the game, two boys began playing rough. As per the police report, one boy punched the other in the head, knocking him to the floor.
During the commotion that followed, the stepfather of the boy that got hit ran at the coach and punched him in the throat. The two men’s wives also got into the action, as per the police. The coach’s wife is accused of going after the man who punched him, while that man’s wife reportedly grabbed her hair.
Now, as a Security Officer in this scene, what would you do?
Possible Answer:
As a security guard, my job is to protect people and property. After that I need to observe and report.
Since a student was hurt and knocked down, I will immediately call for an ambulance or first aid and then entrust the school nurse to look after the hurt student.
Since there is a possibility for the situation to get escalated, I will immediately call for backup.
Next, I will quickly try to diffuse the situation by asking the fighting parents, students and others to clear the area. I will also seek the help of other teachers and parents to disperse the fighting parties.
Once the back-up arrives, I will collect the details of the persons involved and report the incident to the law enforcement. Additionally the incident will be recorded in my incident report with sufficient detail including the time, the nature of the incident and the details of the involved parties.
In this situation, security is a deterrent to this scene. What he/she needs to do, to call his/her supervisor, now supervisor will carry the facility manager of the school along and reports the case situation to them and the two of them most be present there immediately infect. They will now handle the situation in appropriate manner, I believe the case will settle down by approach the both side. But if it beyond their compatibility, they will call police to intervene.
My question is, in a first stage of guard security interview in Canada please what is the first question employees may asking the employer? And how is going to answer them. Thanks
