As there are no state rules governing licensing of security guards, further application requirements will depend mostly upon the hiring company. Certain documents supporting the application might be needed. Unlike armed security guards, unarmed positions do not require rigid background checks. However, the employer may still ask for it as part of standard procedures. They may also ask each applicant to pass drug testing.
